Faculty Associate - Rural Health Tele-Neurology Coverage

The Department of Neurology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, in collaboration with the University of Maryland Medical System, is seeking a Tele-Neurologist to provide consultative coverage for Shore Regional Health on Maryland’s Eastern Shore (Easton, MD).This is a fully remote, work-from-home position offering a unique opportunity to support rural health while maintaining excellent work-life balance. Residents from the following states would be considered.Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, & Maryland.Salary range $168,500 to $300,000.00Position Highlights:Provide general neurology consults via telemedicineCoverage hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with overnight consultative calls handled telephonicallyNo in-house responsibilitiesNo acute stroke or neurocritical care coverage requiredSupported by advanced practice providers (APPs) who assist with consult coordination, follow-up care, and discharge planningDaily workflow includes morning tele-rounds followed by consult coverage throughout the daySchedule: 26 weeks per yearThis position offers a volunteer faculty appointment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Neurology.Performs professional duties and technical procedures of the particular area of specialty to provide examination and treatment of patients. Orders and analyzes appropriate tests and procedures to provide information on patient’s condition; and other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEDoctoral degree in Medicine in area of specialty3-5 years of clinical experienceCPR requiredBLS requiredACLS and/or other relevant certification as required by the departmentBoard certification/eligibility in area of specialtyDemonstrated ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, and/or publishingAbility to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
