Fractioal Controller

**Fractional Controller (Contract)** Power to Hydrogen seeks an experienced fractional Controller to support timely monthly reporting, government grant compliance, and audit readiness. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will work closely with the Accounting Specialist and other accounting support, collaborating with the COO and CCO as needed. Responsibilities * Manage and support the monthly close process, targeting completion by the 15th; review reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, and financial statements prepared by accounting team members. * Review financial reporting, reimbursement requests, cost allocations, and supporting documentation for three active US federal, state, and EU government grants. * Ensure compliance with US GAAP, including review and maintenance of accruals, prepaids, depreciation and amortization schedules, and revenue recognition. * Coordinate with EU entity bookkeepers on reporting and accounting matters as needed. * Maintain ongoing audit readiness, coordinate audit requests, and strengthen accounting controls and documentation; support audit remediation during the initial three months of the engagement. Qualifications * At least eight years of progressive accounting experience, including controller\-level responsibilities. * Strong knowledge of US GAAP, US federal government grant accounting, and audit preparation * US federal grant experience required, and state or EU grant experience preferred. * Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, advanced Excel, and other Microsoft 365 tools; ProcureDesk experience preferred. * CPA preferred; CMA considered with substantial relevant accounting and grant compliance experience. * Strong judgment, attention to detail, and clear communication; manufacturing or hardware company experience preferred. Time commitment: Approximately one day per week, distributed flexibly with availability throughout the week. Additional hours may be agreed upon during the initial audit remediation period.
