Accounting Specialist

**Job Summary** We are seeking a detail\-oriented and proactive Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast\-paced environment where your skills will make a tangible impact on our operational success. **Duties** * Perform general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. * Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. * Prepare journal entries, conduct month\-end closing activities, and support financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). * Utilize various financial software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, and Paychex to process transactions efficiently and accurately. * Conduct data entry tasks with high precision using Excel data analysis tools and 10 key typing skills; analyze spreadsheets for discrepancies or anomalies. * Assist with payroll management activities using systems like ADP or UltiPro while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information. * Support internal audits and compliance initiatives related to SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) controls and governmental accounting standards. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams on budgeting, credit analysis, and financial reporting projects to enhance overall financial performance. **Qualifications** * Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles and GAAP standards. * Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms. * Experience working with payroll software like ADP or UltiPro; knowledge of governmental or non\-profit accounting is a plus. * Strong technical accounting skills including journal entries, account analysis, account reconciliation, and balance sheet review. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel—for data analysis and spreadsheet management. * Excellent numeracy skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate bookkeeping and data entry tasks. * Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high levels of integrity. * Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast\-paced environment; experience with audit preparation is advantageous.
