Job Description

**Title:** Operations Coordinator for Solo Research Tech Founder (3\-Month, US/EU, $25\-40/hr) Hi! I'm the founder of a solo\-operated research operations platform company. I'm hiring my first operations coordinator to take the juggle off my plate so I can stay on client delivery and the work only I can do. This is a 3\-month engagement starting the week of June 9 (or earlier) with strong potential to extend or expand. You'll be my operational partner. You won't write code, but you'll work alongside a small set of AI coding agents that handle the technical build. Your job is to make sure nothing falls through the cracks and I keep moving fast. **What you'll own:** * Task list custodian. I keep a structured task list in a GitHub repo (read access provided). You keep it current, surface what's at risk, escalate what's stuck. * Vendor management. Insurance broker, legal counsel engagement, software renewals. Tracking quotes and deadlines. * Hiring management. Your first 30\-day deliverable is running the hiring process for a Platform Engineering contractor on Upwork, Indeed and elsewhere (about 1 week after you start at the latest): post, screen, schedule, so I only see the final 2\-3 candidates. * AI agent coordination. You learn my prompt library, know which agent workflow to trigger for which task, and keep the library current. * A short early week async (15 minutes) and a Friday status report to me each week (15 minutes). * Light client\-communications support. Occasional email drafting, scheduling, and calendar upkeep. This is the smallest piece of the role, not the core of it. **You're a good fit if you:** * Have 3\+ years as a founder's first ops hire, executive assistant to a CEO, or chief\-of\-staff at a startup * Have worked at a SaaS or tech startup (you understand how software companies actually run) * Are fluent in GitHub, Slack, Google Drive with a very nice\-to\-have experience in Railway, Vercel, Notion, Linear. * Already comfortable operating agentic AI coding tools as a user, Claude Code especially. I will hand you agent workflows and prompts to run, and I need someone ready to take that handoff and drive it without a learning curve, not someone learning what these tools are. * Have outstanding written English and executive\-grade communication * Work autonomously and bring me problems only after you've tried to solve them * Are based in the US, Canada, or Europe with real overlap with US East Coast hours **Nice to have:** * Background in research, consulting, or B2B operations **Engagement terms:** * Start: week of June 9, 2026 (with potential of starting week of June 1, 2026\) * Initial term: 3 months, strong potential to extend * Hours: 50\-65 per month (roughly 12\-15 per week) * Rate: $25\-40/hour depending on experience, paid weekly via Upwork * Communication: async\-first via Slack, plus a weekly 30\-minute sync * I have a hard client deadline on June 30 with portions of that project needing reviews earlier.
