Part\-Time Accountant / Bookkeeper

**Status:** Part\-Time (approximately 20 hours per week)
**Location:** Remote or Hybrid (depending on candidate location)

Position Summary
iFoster is seeking a detail\-oriented and dependable **Part\-Time Accountant / Bookkeeper** to support the organization's financial operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, assisting with month\-end close activities, and supporting nonprofit financial reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate is organized, self\-motivated, comfortable working in a collaborative nonprofit environment, and experienced with QuickBooks. Experience with Bill.com and ADP Workforce Now is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger transactions
* Process accounts payable, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements
* Assist with accounts receivable tracking and reconciliations
* Prepare and reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts
* Support monthly and year\-end closing activities
* Assist with grant and program expense tracking
* Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation
* Maintain vendor files and W\-9 documentation
* Support payroll processing and payroll\-related reconciliations
* Assist with preparation for annual audits and Form 990 reporting
* Generate routine financial reports for management
* Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal controls
* Perform other accounting and bookkeeping duties as assigned by the Controller
QualificationsRequired
* Strong proficiency with **QuickBooks**
* Experience managing accounts payable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
Preferred
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
* 3\+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
* Experience working in a nonprofit organization
