Patient Financial Specialist - Part Time

Rivers of Hope Counseling (ROHC) is seeking a strong, motivated, results\-driven Collections Specialist to support our practice by collecting copays, past due balances, and overdue patient accounts. This role is NOT insurance claims billing. We need a patient collections specialist focused on copays and past\-due balances. If your background is mainly claims/denials, this is not the right role. This role is ideal for a go\-getter who is confident having payment conversations, follows up consistently, and can produce measurable collection results. Key Responsibilities * Collect or verify **copays** for scheduled appointments (before or same day of service) * Contact patients with **past due balances** via phone, text, and email * Set up and monitor **payment arrangements** * Send payment reminders and statements as needed * Document collection activity and outcomes in the system * Work assigned patient accounts weekly until balances are resolved * Communicate account status updates to leadership Qualifications * Experience in **collections, patient accounts, or accounts receivable (AR)** * Strong communication skills (able to be **firm, professional, and compassionate**) * Highly organized, consistent follow\-through, and reliable * Comfortable meeting weekly performance goals * Experience in healthcare or behavioral health is a plus Important Note This position does NOT involve insurance billing, claim denials, or claim follow\-up. ROHC uses a billing company for claims submission. This role is strictly focused on patient collections (copays \+ outstanding balances).
