Full-Charge Accountant

**Position:** Full Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant **Reports To:** CEO **Location:** Chandler, Arizona USA **Job Type:** Full\-Time (Remote with On\-Site \& Travel Requirements) **Position Overview:** The Full Charge Accountant is the **sole engine**—they handle everything from data entry to the final trial balance. Handle all accounting functions including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month\-end and year\-end closing. **Key Responsibilities:** ***Full\-Cycle Accounting*** * **Manage the General Ledger:** Record all day\-to\-day financial transactions and complete the posting process. * **AP \& AR:** Process vendor invoices, manage weekly payment runs, and handle billing/collections for clients. * **Payroll \& Benefits:** Process payroll, track employee hours, and ensure accurate tax withholdings. * **Bank Reconciliation:** Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts monthly. ***Financial Reporting \& Analysis*** * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. * Maintain an accurate **Trial Balance** and perform month\-end/year\-end closing procedures. * Ensure compliance with GAAP (though often on a smaller scale than a Controller). ***Taxation \& Compliance*** * **Sales Tax:** Handle filing and payment of sales/use taxes (especially relevant if you are in e\-commerce). * **1099s \& Records:** Manage 1099 filings for contractors and maintain all physical/digital financial records. **Requirements** **Key Skills \& Qualifications:** * **Education \& Certifications:** * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required). * CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or equivalent professional qualification (preferred). * **Experience:** * Minimum of 5\-7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role. * Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. * Experience working in any e\-commerce, consulting firm or web development agency * **Software Mastery:** They must be "power users" of **QuickBooks Online** and integrated apps (e.g., Bill.com, Expensify, Gusto). * **Data Entry:** High accuracy in manual entry and digital record keeping. * **Personal Attributes:** * High level of integrity and attention to detail. * Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. * Proactive, with a solution\-oriented mindset. * Must be willing to undergo background and credit score check **Benefits** * Mostly remote but should be available to work onsite if needed * Potentially becoming the company's CFO * Good market rate "You must be willing undergo a background and credit score check."
