You will be working collaboratively with all teams in Reveal to define and execute the technical roadmap for Identifi, and our future Human Systems products.This role might be for you if: You thrive in a fast paced collaborative engineering environment without extensive oversight. ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable APIs using Ruby on Rails, supporting mobile, desktop and web clients with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainabilityContainerize applications and supporting services using Docker and supported deployment workflows for consistent environments across development, staging, and productionLead database design and management efforts, including schema design, data modeling, query optimization, migrations, and performance tuning in PostgreSQLMaintain DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, improving build automation, test reliability, and deployment processes to increase developer velocity and system stabilityEnsure security and compliance requirements are met by implementing secure coding practices, authentication and authorization controls, encryption strategies, and vulnerability mitigationWork across the team and specialties to drive quality through architecture, code review, and collaborative development.Assist our business development and mission success teams with troubleshooting and technical issuesRequirements8+ years of experience in Backend developmentExpertise in Ruby and SQL, including designing backend architectures, building scalable services, and optimizing complex database queriesDeep understanding of security architecture and cryptography, including key management, threat modeling, secure system design, and defending against common attack vectors.Strong experience using Docker and Kubernetes to containerize applications, manage deployments, configure services, and operate production workloadsDeep expertise with PostgreSQL, including advanced data modeling, query optimization, indexing strategies, transaction management, and operating production databases at scaleCan manage your own productivity in an asynchronous, fully remote environmentWillingness to learn new technologies and tools as needed, and to read and refactor code to make it better, even if it's not your ownNice to HavesStartup experienceWorked with LLMs and AI-powered systems, including integrating AI services into backend workflows, designing APIs that support AI features, and evaluating model capabilities and limitations for production use casesDesigned and implemented solutions using graph databases (e.g., Neo4j or similar), including modeling complex relationships, writing efficient graph queries, and applying graph concepts to solve real-world data problemsProactive and creative problem solver, comfort stepping into the unfamiliar and figuring things outExperience designing and building APIs that support mobile applications, including considerations for performance, reliability, versioning, offline/low-bandwidth environments, and secure data exchangeExperience working with TAK (Team Awareness Kit) servers and ecosystems, including integrating with TAK services, managing data flows, and supporting mission-critical or real-time systemsExposure to secure handling and storage of biometric data, including familiarity with relevant standards such as EBTS, data prot
