With 1.5M hours of runtime and 8 GWh of energy storage systems managed with HybridOS™, FlexGen provides field-tested software and services solutions that are trusted by the most technically and commercially demanding developers, utilities, government agencies, and industrial companies in the world.Position DescriptionFlexGen is seeking a Business Development Director to lead strategic engagement with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firms that design and construct utility-scale energy storage projects. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in EPC project delivery who can bridge the gap between technical execution and commercial opportunity. The BDD-EPC will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with EPCs, supporting project development and execution, and ensuring FlexGen’s solutions are seamlessly integrated into large-scale energy storage deployments.Major Job Responsibilities:Develop and execute FlexGen’s business development strategy for the EPC channel across North AmericaBuild and manage relationships with EPC firms involved in energy storage and hybrid power projectsIdentify partnership opportunities and support EPCs in integrating FlexGen’s software and services into their project delivery modelsCollaborate with internal engineering, product, and delivery teams to align technical solutions with EPC requirements and timelinesLead the preparation of commercial proposals, scopes of work, and partnership agreements tailored to EPC workflowsRepresent FlexGen at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings (~60% travel expected)Monitor market trends, project pipelines, and regulatory developments relevant to EPCs and energy storageEstimated travel to customer and project sites (40-60%)Position Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field (advanced degree a plus)5+ years of experience in the energy sector, with at least 2 years working directly for or with an EPC firm on utility-scale energy projectsDeep understanding of EPC project lifecycles, procurement processes, and construction risk managementFamiliarity with energy storage systems, power conversion systems, and grid interconnectionStrong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsExperience with commercial deal structuring and project execution supportProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)FlexGen provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
