The Financial Benefits Analyst works closely and collaboratively with other members of the financial support team to provide support to Account Manager(s) and Benefits Consultant(s). Deliverables will include benefit and financial illustrations that allows clients to properly evaluate their benefit plans. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):Drafts accurate exhibits for quarterly and annual client meetingsDrafts client utilization reports using various carrier reporting methods. Analyzes data and identifies opportunities for plan design and product changes, based upon observed utilization patternsDrafts monthly reporting deliverables for clients.Analyzes industry benchmarks and drafts information for the client to show their competitiveness in the industry.Develops and maintains strong working relationships with carrier partnersMaintains accurate, current, organized, and complete market information in internal databasesAssists team and clients as necessary with special projectsDemonstrate expertise across funding models: Deep working knowledge of fully insured, self-funded (ASO), level-funded, and alternative risk-financing strategies (e.g., group captives) and how each impacts total cost, risk, and cash flow.Model and compare funding scenarios: Build financial projections that compare expected cost, volatility, and renewal outcomes across funding approaches (including stop-loss dynamics for self-funded and captive participation structuresSupport strategic cost-control initiatives tied to funding: Partner with consultants to assess feasibility and implementation implications of aggressive funding alternatives (self-funded, level-funded, captives, etc.) as part of a multi-year cost containment roadmap.Translate complex funding arrangements into clear guidance for the service team: Explain self-funded, captive, level-funded, and other alternative funding mechanics - tradeoffs, risk/reward, and client impact - in plain language to Account Managers and Benefit Consultants to support client education and recommendations.Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:Ability to analyze data and recognize analytical patternsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively handle multiple and changing client priorities and deadlinesExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentEducation, Training and Experience:2-3 years of experienceBachelor’s degree, required; Business, Finance, Math, Accounting, or related field, preferredProficient in all Microsoft Office products, requiredIntermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, requiredExperience in the healthcare industry working for a group insurance carrier, broker, or consultant, preferredKnowledge of group insurance including medical, dental, CDHP, pharmacy, life, and disability products, strongly preferredExperience with database applications, a plusOther:License preferredThe typical base pay range for this role nationwide is$125,000 to $135,000 peryear. Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
