GENERAL FUNCTIONMomentum’s Analytics team is looking for a Sr. Analyst, Data Analytics to join our growing Risk Group. Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Analytics, the Sr. Analyst, Data Analytics will be the subject matter data expert providing the business with insights, strategies, and solutions through a consultative approach to bring success to our business and our customers.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESLeverage data expertise to analyze a wide spectrum of data to provide insights and solutions to the business.Identify and improve inefficiencies or issues in current data processes and reports with a “there’s always room for improvement” mindset.Conceive, design & develop purpose focused reports and dashboards that drive value and meets business needsManipulate large data sets from multiple sources to provide business metric reportingCommunicate concise and actionable business strategies from vast amounts of data to senior management.Continuously broaden knowledge of different business verticals and their functions and how they utilize dataLead the regular touchpoint with business stakeholders to provide insights beyond what is requested and/or provide data solutions to improve their workflowConduct advanced statistical and financial analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and business opportunities.Leverage statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and machine learning techniques to provide deeper insights into business operations and market conditions.Produce high-quality, visually compelling reports and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel for stakeholders at all levels.Support the Sr. Manager of Analytics in defining key metrics, performance targets, and project priorities for the department.EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Decision Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Finance, or EconomicsEXPERIENCE4 years of experience in reporting, analysis and strategy development in the financial services industry.Proven experience using SQL, R, Python, or similar data mining and analytics applications.Experience with Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SSRS or other tools.SKILLSProficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, macros, and data analysis toolsStrong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.Capable of completing descriptive, diagnostic, exploratory, predictive, and prescriptive analytical exercisesProven ability to effectively analyze and interpret large amounts of raw data to accurately convey business needsExcellent communication and presentation skills, with an ability to explain complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Strong work ethic, curious and persistent determination in reviewing and reconciling variances.Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team setting.Ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships with both technical and non-technical colleaguesGood business judgment with demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategicallyDesire to take full ownership of deliverables and be accountable for resultsAbility to provide deliverables accurately and on time with minimal supervisionAbility to draw conclusions and provide explanations and make recommendations based on analysisAt Momentum/Money Mart, our vision is to transform customers’ lives for the better.
