Job Description
**About CogniLens**
CogniLens is a Berlin\-based startup building a regulatory intelligence platform that helps life science and consumer health teams anticipate regulatory risk before submission.
We use AI to analyze product documentation and identify potential regulatory issues early—reducing delays, reformulations, and costly re\-submissions across development and approval workflows.
While our initial focus has been on clinical development in pharma and medical devices, we are now expanding into **food products, dietary supplements, and cosmetics**, where regulatory uncertainty is equally costly but structurally different.
**The Opportunity**
We are looking for a senior **Regulatory Affairs expert in food, supplements, and/or cosmetics** to join us as an Advisory.
You will help define how regulatory reasoning in consumer health products can be translated into structured intelligence for AI systems.
This is not a traditional advisory role—you will actively shape:
* how regulatory rules are interpreted and modeled
* how risk signals are detected in product formulations and claims
* how global compliance logic is embedded into our platform
**You might be**
* A former regulator or assessor at a food safety or cosmetics authority
* A Regulatory Affairs lead in food, nutraceutical, supplement, or personal care companies
* A consultant working with EU/US/global consumer health compliance
* An expert in claim substantiation, labeling, or ingredient safety frameworks
**Experience with one or more of the following is highly relevant:**
* Food supplements / nutraceutical regulatory strategy
* Cosmetics safety assessment and ingredient compliance
* Food labeling and health claims regulation
* Cross\-border regulatory alignment (EU, UK, US markets)
**What you’ll bring**
You understand how consumer health products are evaluated in practice—not just in theory.
You are familiar with the logic of regulators such as:
* European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)
* U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
* National competent authorities within the EU cosmetics and food regulatory ecosystem
**You know how regulatory decisions are shaped by:**
* ingredient safety assessment frameworks
* health claims substantiation standards
* labeling and packaging compliance rules
* borderline product classification challenges
**What you will help us build**
You will help define the regulatory intelligence layer for:
* Food supplement compliance (ingredients, claims, dosage constraints)
* Cosmetic product safety and ingredient restrictions
* Labeling and marketing compliance risk detection
* Borderline classification logic (cosmetic vs drug vs supplement vs food)
* Early\-warning signals for regulatory rejection or reformulation risk
Your input will directly influence how our AI interprets regulatory “red flags” in product documentation.
**Details**
* **Location:** Berlin (preferred) or Remote (EU/UK/US experience required)
* **Commitment:** Advisory / Part\-ti
