Senior Cloud Operations Engineer- US RemoteJob Description Summary As a Cloud/Monitoring Engineering Senior, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing and advancing PTC’s Network Operations Center (NOC) cloud processes. This position focuses on designing scalable architectures, enhancing monitoring capabilities, and delivering automated solutions that ensure reliability, security, and performance across heterogeneous environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define strategies, implement best practices, and drive innovation in cloud automation and observability. Key Responsibilities Maintain and optimize existing monitoring and automation solutions to improve system reliability and reduce operational overhead. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business objectives into technical solutions, KPIs, and SLOs. Define monitoring strategies and engineer solutions for multi-cloud and SaaS environments, ensuring compliance with security standards. Design and implement cloud automation and orchestration workflows using Python and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, SaltStack). Develop and maintain integrations with RESTful APIs to support observability and automation initiatives. Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and global procedures. Continuously analyze and improve monitoring KPIs, alerting strategies, and incident response processes. Skills and Knowledge Proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including networking, security, and cost optimization. Hands-on experience with Docker containerization and orchestration in cloud environments. Expertise in enterprise monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Catchpoint, and Sumo Logic. Strong Python development skills for automation, data processing, and API integrations. Experience in designing and supporting RESTful APIs with robust error handling and security. Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and SaltStack for automated deployments. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in software or cloud engineering roles. Proven ability to design and implement complex workflows and automation pipelines. Demonstrated willingness to learn and experiment with emerging cloud technologies. Compensation (CIP) PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $75,000 - 115,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus.
