AI Product Designer

You’ll play a critical role in shaping Durable’s core user experience. You’ll lead the design of intelligent, AI-native systems that feel proactive, intuitive, and approachable. This isn’t a traditional SaaS design role, you’ll be inventing new patterns for interacting with AI, simplifying complex tasks into beautiful flows, and helping small business owners feel empowered by AI, not afraid of it.You’ll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and leadership to define what great AI UX looks like and set the standard for how we build it. You’ll be a force multiplier for the design team: guiding others, raising the bar, and delivering work that moves the business forward.What we look for5+ years of product design experience on shipped B2C products, with a portfolio you can speak to in depthComfortable producing in code or with AI-assisted coding tools (v0, Cursor, or equivalent)Fluent with the current generation of AI creative tooling (image gen, video gen, voice) and opinionated about where they're usefulExperience designing AI or generative experiences: prompt interfaces, automated output, multi-modal interactionsSystems thinking: design patterns and component libraries that scaled beyond the features you built them forBonus: you have an eye for exceptional brand design and motion and want to help us push the Durable brand further (in product and across marketing)Bonus: startup experience or having launched something of your ownApplication processYour works speaks louder than your resume. A few short questionsWhy Durable Where are you locatedWhat are your salary expectationsFine printWe are a Vancouver-based company and candidates need to be based in Canada. Remote is fine - you can expect travel to Vancouver once per quarter (minimum) to work in-office with the team. Compensation is $150,000–$210,000 CAD base plus equity, for Vancouver-based candidates, depending on seniority.
