Position Responsibilities:Conduct risk assessment and classification by Manulife's philosophy and standardsCommunicate and collaborate with sales and head office colleagues to provide the highest quality and competitive decisions to our customersMaintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external partnersConsistently deliver the best customer experience by making every interaction significantAlign with consumer laws and regulations regarding risk classification, confidentiality and disclosureIdentify and propose solutions to problems and procedures related to the underwriter's workRequired Qualifications:3 years of underwriting experience$1,000,000+ Life signing authoritySales and relationship-focused mindset with a drive for earning business and continuing to earn business in this competitive market Working towards, or completion of FALU, FLMI and ACS designationsStrong knowledge of medical terminology including physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, imaging, diagnostic testing and treatmentsStrong knowledge in how non-medical risks impact mortality, including hazardous occupations, sports, avocations and lifestyleExperience with financial reports and training in anti-money laundering practicesExcellent oral and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset.
