You’ll collaborate closely with scientific leaders, product development teams, and national sales groups to shape the future of our specialty testing portfolio and deliver innovative solutions to clients tackling today’s most complex environmental challenges.This is an opportunity for a technical business development professional who thrives at the intersection of advanced analytical chemistry, client strategy, and market innovation.What Makes This Role ExcitingWork with cutting‑edge science: Represent some of the most advanced PFAS, dioxins, PCBs, and emerging contaminants analytical capabilities in the industry.Shape the future of SGS’s specialty services: Influence product development, market positioning, and strategic partnerships.High visibility and impact: Engage directly with senior leadership, key clients, and national industry groups.Thought leadership opportunities: Present at conferences, host webinars, lead technical discussions, and help clients design complex, science-based sampling and analysis project scopes.Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue Growth & Market ExpansionMeet or exceed revenue targets for Specialty Ultra‑Trace and PFAS testing services across North America.Build and manage a strong sales funnel, with a focus on large, strategic opportunities.Identify and develop new markets, applications, and client segments for emerging contaminants testing.Client Engagement & Strategic InfluenceBuild deep relationships with decision makers, chemists, project managers, and executive leaders within target organizations.Provide technical presentations and consultative guidance to help clients understand testing options, project design, and analytical considerations.Map client organizational structures to support “top‑down” influence and strategic penetration.Cross‑Functional LeadershipPartner with regional sales teams to position SGS’s specialty capabilities and support One SGS cross‑selling initiatives.Collaborate with product development and laboratory leadership to communicate client needs and identify new service opportunities.Work with marketing to develop technical collateral, proposals, and client communication strategies.Innovation & Market IntelligenceProvide ongoing feedback on market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging analytical needs.Present new technologies, method advancements, and innovative solutions to clients and internal teams.Help shape SGS’s specialty testing roadmap based on client demand and scientific evolution.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required (Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field).Minimum 5 years of experience in an environmental or physical sciences laboratory.Hands‑on experience in specialty ultra‑trace, PFAS, dioxin, or PCB testing strongly preferred.Minimum 3 years in business development, client services, or technical sales within an environmental testing context.Experience selling or supporting LC‑MS/MS, HRMS, or PFAS analytical services strongly desired.Ideal Candidate ProfileDeep understanding of dioxin, PCB, PFAS, and emerging contaminant testing challenges.Ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear client value.Strong relationship‑builder with a consultative, science‑driven approach.Comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.Strategic thinker who enjoys shaping new offerings and market direction.CompensationThe expected salary range for this position is $85,000 – $120,000 annually. This position is eligible for the EHS North America commission plan as well. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role.
