If you’re passionate about helping children and families while growing your career, Blackbird is the place to make an impact.Join us and help change mental health care for children for the better!Position SummaryBlackbird Health is seeking a mission-driven, board-certified psychiatrist or collaborative physician to join our growing pediatric mental health team in Virginia. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of collaborative clinical experience and a passion for expanding access to high-quality mental health care for children, adolescents, and families. This is a fully remote, flexible opportunity with a commitment of approximately 2-5 hours per month to support up to 4 Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. What makes you, you:You are a board-certified psychiatrist with a genuine commitment to pediatric and adolescent mental healthYou bring 5+ years of collaborative clinical experience, and are comfortable working alongside nurse practitioners in a supervisory capacityYou have a deep understanding of child and adolescent psychiatric presentations and evidence-based treatment approachesYou are thoughtful and thorough in your clinical decision-making and chart reviewsYou are collaborative by nature, you see your role as a partner to your clinical team, not just an overseerYou are comfortable in a fully remote, async-first environment and responsive when your team needs youYou are mission-driven and excited about improving access to pediatric mental health careHow you'll make an impact:Provide clinical collaboration to nurse practitioners delivering pediatric mental health careSupport and assess clinical decision-making to ensure the highest standard of patient careConduct high-quality reviews of patient charts on a regular cadence in accordance with Virginia state requirementsBe available for virtual consultations with nurse practitioners as clinical questions ariseCollaborate with the clinical and leadership team to refine workflows and implement best practicesServe as a trusted clinical resource for complex or escalated cases across the patient populationThe basics you'll need:Board-certified psychiatrist licensed in Virginia (MD or DO)Active and unrestricted Virginia medical license in good standing5+ years of collaborative clinical experience (CRNP collaboration preferred)Comfortable working in a fully remote, telehealth environmentOwn your own phone, computer, and high-speed internet connectionAvailability for approximately 2-5 hours per month for chart reviews and consultationsAbility to respond to urgent clinical consultations in a timely mannerNice to have:Experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults in a clinical settingFamiliarity with collaborative practice agreements and multi-state telehealth regulationsBackground in or exposure to integrated or interdisciplinary care modelsExperience working in a high-growth or startup healthcare environmentComfort with EMR systems and async clinical communication toolsCompensation:The salary range below is based on monthly compensation.Salary Range$2,000—$2,500 USDJoin us!To raise the standard of pediatric mental health care through accurate understanding and precise treatment that reflect how each child’s brain, body, and behavior work together.“It's so rare to find comprehensive care like this---from testing to therapy to med management (and more)--all in one place.
