This role collaborates closely with Finance, Accounting, IT, and Operations to ensure Workday Financials is configured, maintained, and optimized to meet business needs while maintaining strong controls, data integrity, and compliance.This is a hands‑on role for an experienced Workday professional who enjoys solving complex problems, leading system improvements, and translating business requirements into scalable solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesWorkday Financials System OwnershipAct as the primary subject matter expert for Workday Financials configuration and ongoing supportAdminister and optimize modules including:Financial AccountingBudgetsBankingBusiness AssetsCustomer & Supplier AccountsProcurementRevenue ManagementProjectsAdaptive PlanningFoundational Data Model (FDM)Accounting CenterProactively identify opportunities to leverage underutilized Workday functionalityProcess Design & IntegrationLead design and configuration of complex financial workflowsMaintain functional alignment between Workday HCM and Finance modulesEnsure seamless data flow and cross‑system consistencySecurity, Audit & CompliancePartner with Security and Audit teams to manage Workday security roles and permissionsSupport internal and external audits, including SOX and Segregation of Duties (SoD) reviewsEnforce IT change control standards, ensuring testing, documentation, and approvals are completed prior to deploymentReporting & AnalyticsTranslate business needs into advanced Workday reports and dashboardsBuild and maintain calculated fields and complex reports (Matrix, Composite)Recommend the most effective reporting approach to reduce manual effort and improve insightsProject, Release & Demand ManagementLead UAT planning and execution, including issue tracking and resolutionEvaluate and coordinate bi‑annual Workday releases and new feature adoptionPrioritize incoming system enhancement requests and manage backlog effectivelySupport & EnablementProvide escalated support for complex Workday Financial issuesServe as a key point of contact for vendor and internal escalationsDevelop training materials and mentor super‑users to increase system self‑sufficiencyTechnical & Professional SkillsDeep expertise configuring Workday Financial business processes (e.g., Procure‑to‑Pay, Order‑to‑Cash, General Ledger)Experience participating in at least one Workday implementation or major functional rolloutStrong understanding of Workday Security Groups and role‑based access controlAdvanced reporting skills, including calculated fields and complex report typesAdvanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query)Experience using Workday EIB for bulk data uploadsBusiness & Leadership SkillsAbility to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholdersStrong analytical and root‑cause problem‑solving skillsComfortable managing competing priorities and working independentlyExperience mentoring junior analysts or business super‑usersExcellent communication and stakeholder partnership skillExperience & Education6–7 years of functional and/or technical experience with Workday FinancialsExperience supporting multiple Workday Financial modulesBachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)Originally posted on Himalayas
