This position reports in to our Global Network Infrastructure Engineering Department. This role involves working on complex or server less complex components of network projects.ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties and Responsibilities may include the following:Effectively contribute toward team goalsYour influence will be at the work group and customer/user levelWork beyond the routine nature of tasks, utilizing your specialized knowledge of technologyTroubleshoot basic problems and recommend appropriate actionEngineering, deployment, and support of the TNS Global IP backbone networkDelivery of Ethernet based services, as defined by the Metro Ethernet ForumRouting protocol design and support (BGP, ISIS, EIGRP, OSPF, PIM)WAN/LAN topology design and supportMPLS design and supportData Center design and supportLoad Balancer design and supportVendor/hardware assessment and recommendationsEquipment/Design specifications in support of budgetary planningQualificationsQualifications:5+ yrs design and operations experience in large scale multiprotocol global IP/ISP networks4+ years of experience and expert in TCP/IP and routing protocols (RSVP, LDP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, PIM, BFD, and FRst Reroute technologies)2+ years of experience with architecture and provisioning of MPLS networks and services including Traffic Engineering, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS L2 and L3 VPNs, VPLS, Circuit Emulation, IPSec, VPNs, IP Multicast, and QOS/COS4+ years of experience in layer-2 Ethernet technologies2+ years working knowledge of Data Center design and operationExpertise in current industry WAN technologies/products (SONET, SDH, TDM, Metro Ethernet, etc.)4+ years of extensive hands-on experience with the configuration, debugging, and problem resolution of complex Cisco and/or Juniper based networksExperienced with command-line interFRces, and skilled in effective use of various network monitoring and analysis tools such as SolarWinds, SPLUNK, and similar toolsOptional Desired Qualifications:IP MulticastHands-on experience with Service Provider class Juniper and Cisco routers and switchesServer Load-BalancingUNIX/Linux ExperienceTraffic Generator ExperienceProject Management ExperiencePERL programming and XML based management experienceEducation and Certifications:B.S. (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
