Job Description

Position Summary The Associate Analyst role is part of the Threat Intelligence Unit (TIU), within Sibylline’s Global Intelligence Team (GIT). As an Associate Analyst, you will join a team of security specialists providing incident and threat monitoring, update briefs, research duties, and intelligence analysis.   In this multifaceted role, as the Associate Analyst, you will assume a range of critical responsibilities aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the client’s personnel, operations, and assets. This includes responsibility for both incident data monitoring, tailored social media monitoring solutions, and intelligence analysis/reporting. You will also be responsible for disseminating mass communications concerning global events that hold the potential to impact the well-being of the clients' personnel, valuable assets, and business operations.    As an Associate Analyst, you will maintain a constant awareness of geopolitical and national issues that may impact the client’s employees, locations, or reputation. They will conduct thorough horizon scanning to produce comprehensive reports highlighting emerging trends and incidents in regions where the company operates. This is delivered as comprehensive reporting and reviews for Sibylline’s clients.   This is a full-time role requiring to primarily work night shifts, with flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as part of the shift rotation. This role may require working outside standard hours based on client needs, including up to a 24/7 schedule. Occasional travel to the office will also be required for training, events, or administrative purposes. Essential Functions / Responsibilities Maintain situational awareness, collect, and analyse information to ensure the safety and security of our clients’ people, buildings, and operationsDetect and assess threats and incidents, and determine their impact on our clientsUsing open-source intelligence (OSINT) sources and internal databases to conduct social media, deep and dark web monitoring, and produce tactical intelligenceWrite and distribute notifications and daily and weekly products. Triage incidents and threats quickly and effectivelyConduct ad-hoc client briefings on unfolding eventsConduct research and maintain Global Intelligence Team core products, including city security briefs, event risk assessments, and Sibylline’s ASTRA platformCollect and maintain data sets as directed by the Lead Data, Insights, and Capability analyst. Display creative thinking and consulting skills to deliver a continually improving service for our clientsFacilitate the dissemination of information to mobilise the necessary resources to ensure that regional staff can mitigate immediate risks and incidents Support our clients directly by providing short-term "Surge" capacity as required. Perform any additional duties as required by the Head of Global AnalysisEngage and collaborate with other Sibylline teams globally to remain up to date with best practices, resources, and industry standardsOther duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Impeccable communication skills, with the ability to take urgent calls from concerned stakeholders with patience and professionalismAbility to monitor the news, social media, and other information feeds and quickly determine the impact of security events and crises on business operationsExcellent research skills, with the ability to rapidly digest, evaluate, and “sift” large quantities of information from a range of sourcesAbility to interpret, organise, and visualise dataAnalytical mindset, with the ability to provide thoughtful insight into complex situationsExcellent attention to detailHigh level of competency with MS Office tools. Experience with mass notification systems, social media monitoring software (e.g. Dataminr, Navigator), and cross-functional experience within a global security team (e.g. threat monitoring, travel security). Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Security Studies, International Relations, War Studies, Criminal Justice, or a relevant field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent professional experience Demonstrated interest in security policies, best practices, and procedures, with a customer service mindsetLived, academic, or professional insight into at least one major region (Americas, Middle East & Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe & Eurasia)Requires the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate. Schedule may include rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities to ensure continuous coverage.
