Job Description

We're building a dedicated accessibility engineering team to work on a native Android application at scale. This is a remote, freelance/contractor position for a 6-month engagement, working in English with a European team.ResponsibilitiesLead the development of accessibility (A11y) fixes for the Android application, focusing on stability, performance, and alignment with product and business goalsSet and promote high standards for code quality, applying modern best practices and ensuring the extensibility and maintainability of the codebaseCollaborate on end-to-end accessibility fix implementation, from draft to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with stakeholdersWork closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, iOS and backend development, and QARequirementsExperience implementing accessibility (A11y) features in mobile appsA track record of contributing to applications with a large user baseAn understanding of the importance of writing fast, comprehensive tests, and experience doing soProduction experience with Coroutines & FlowsUnderstanding of reactive streamsExperience working in a multi-module projectA commitment to maintaining high code quality, with a strong sense of responsibility for the product's successA team-oriented approachStrong written and verbal communication in EnglishNice to have:Production experience with Jetpack ComposeBasic understanding of securityUnderstanding of Gradle scriptingExperience with Agile development methodologiesExperience in the payments or FinTech industryOriginally posted on Himalayas
