City/StateVirginia Beach, VAWork ShiftMultiple shifts availableOverview:Sentara is hiring a Senior Healthcare Data Analyst!This position is fully remote!OverviewThe Senior Healthcare Data Analyst serves as a key member of the Research Analytics and Data Literacy (RAD) team within Sentara Enterprise Analytics, supporting Sentara’s research mission in partnership with the Sentara Health Research Center (SHRC). This role specializes in retrospective clinical and population health research, delivering end-to-end analytic support from study conception through manuscript development and dissemination. The Senior Analyst collaborates closely with physician investigators, clinical leaders, and research stakeholders to assess feasibility, extract and curate data, perform statistical analyses, and develop publishable outputs. This role requires strong expertise in healthcare data (EHR, registries), research methodology, and advanced analytics, combined with a service-oriented mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess research feasibility and translate clinical questions into analytic plansExtract, validate, and manage data from Epic, Databricks, and other sourcesPerform data cleaning, quality assurance, and statistical analysesSupport IRB submissions and ensure compliance with data governance standardsGenerate tables, figures, and visualizations for manuscripts and presentationsCollaborate with investigators on interpretation, abstracts, and disseminationEducationBachelor’s degree (Required)Preferred field of study - bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or relatedMaster’s Degree in a related field (Preferred)Certification/LicensureNo specific certification or licensure requirementsExperienceA minimum of 3 years of healthcare analytics or research experienceStrong SQL skills; experience with Excel, Databricks, Python, or R preferred.Must have Knowledge of EHR data (Epic), clinical coding, and research methodsExperience with REDCap, IRB processes, and manuscript support preferredBackground in academic medicine or health system research preferredWe provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$80,204.80-$133,681.60.
