Job Description
Northwest Arkansas Continuum of Care is seeking a part\-time, contract employee to serve as its bookkeeper/accountant. The Continuum of Care (CoC) is a registered non\-profit organization whose primary purpose is providing grant assistance and coordination of services to organizations serving the region’s homeless population. The agency is primarily grant funded, through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and as such must maintain strict adherence to federal and state accounting practices.
General qualifications for this position include:
* A degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience of 2 or more years with non\-profit accounting and/or development.
* Experience with QuickBooks software.
* An understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, and adherence to applicable statutory regulations governing finance and financial reporting.
* Ability to communicate effectively with the CoC Board of Directors, the CoC Executive Director, and the CoC Finance Committee.
* Ability to streamline and create greater efficiency within the organization as it pertains to financial reporting and compliance.
Specific qualifications (preferred):
* An understanding of HUD reporting requirements, reimbursement/drawdown policies, and auditing practices.
* Familiarity with the structure of CoC grants and the federal eLOCCS system.
Compensation:
* This is a contract position, paid monthly, at a rate of $250\.00 per month. The expected time commitment each month is between four and eight (4 and 8\) hours.
