Join our team—we’re hiring a Missouri-licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired!
We’re looking for a dedicated TVI to support students with visual impairments in accessing their education and building independence. This role combines direct instruction, collaboration, and thoughtful planning to help students succeed both in and out of the classroom.If you enjoy working closely with school teams and supporting students in meaningful, practical ways, we’d love to connect.What You’ll DoProvide direct instruction in specialized skills, including braille, orientation and mobility support, assistive technology, and compensatory strategiesAdapt curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments to ensure accessibility for students with varying levels of visionConduct functional vision and learning media assessments to guide instructional planning and accommodationsCollaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support inclusive education and ensure appropriate accommodationsTeach and reinforce daily living skills, self-advocacy, and independence to prepare students for postsecondary lifeProvide training and consultation to school staff, families, and peers on strategies to support students with visual impairmentsParticipate in IEP and 504 meetings, including evaluation and placement processes when state school recommendations applyMonitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of IEP goals, assessments, and compliance with regulationsSupport students in the use of low vision devices, screen readers, magnification tools, and other assistive technologiesCollaborate with administrators, colleagues, and parents in a positive and productive mannerAttend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as neededWhat You’ll NeedActive Missouri teaching certification in Blind/Partially Sighted (B–12)Experience supporting students with visual impairmentsFamiliarity with IEP processes, school-based services, and related assessmentsStrong communication and collaboration skillsComfort using assistive and digital toolsWhy Providers Choose Us
