**Bookkeeper** Painting Industry Insurance and Annuity Fund – DC9 New York, NY $60,000\-$80,000 annually \- commensurate with experience Medical, Dental, Vision, Pension Full\-time in office – M\-F 8a\-5p **(this is not a remote position)** Responsibilities: * Manage bookkeeping operations for a Union Benefit Fund office. * Assume full responsibility for the General Ledger and monthly closings for benefit funds. * Generate weekly QuickBooks payroll, maintain Human Resources\-related employee files reflecting salary increases, deductions, garnishments and benefits; exercising a high level of confidentiality. * Make e\-banking transfers, reconcile bank statements and implement allocation of bills. * Prepare financial records for annual independent audit. * Monitor Accounting Department activities ensuring accuracy and smoothness of workflow. * Make daily bank deposits, reconciled deposits vs. computed receipts issuing credits \& billings as required. * Bank reconciliation \& authorized to make banking transfers. Qualifications: * Prior experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields. * Proficiency with accounting software and related financial systems, QuickBooks, Windows Office and Excel (knowledge of ISSI is a plus). * Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. * Positive attitude \- no project is too big or too small and no problem is above or beneath you. * Natural affinity and ability for details \- you triangulate and triple\-check everything. * Polished and professional presence, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. * Extremely proactive and productive; self\-starter and self\-motivated. * Methodical and meticulous mentality. Dedicated and diligent.
