Job Description

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) Specialist in Ohio to join its central office state reporting team. State reporting requirements include student, staff, course, calendar, testing, and financial information. With a growing network of 50 charter schools, ACCEL employs a diverse staff of passionate professionals who value research based practices and desire to grow as professionals.Responsibilities:Enter and update special education, Limited English Proficiency (LEP), and gifted information into Student Information System (SIS)Maintain history records for Effective Date RecordsExtracts district(s’) data from various source systems and prepares data filesUploads data files into the Data Collector for EMIS Processing and Submission of data to the state Department of EducationEnsure accurate and timely submission of data to the state Department of Education, assuring all EMIS deadlines are metInvestigate and trouble-shoot Level 1 and Level 2 errors as neededCommunicate errors/problems, etc. to school end-users and assist them to work through correcting their errorsMaintain staff data for staff reporting in USPS or Flat File Editor, depending on school ITCWork in ODDEX to resolve flags and errorsComplete Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) reportingComplete Federal Low Income Count System (FLICS) reportingWrite EMIS-related documentation as needed for district end-usersMaintain knowledge of state reporting requirementsAttend all professional development offered by the district relative to database maintenanceQualifications:High School diploma or equivalentOhio residence preferredThree years’ prior EMIS experienceComprehensive EMIS knowledge and Ohio District Data Exchange (ODDEX) proficiencyAdvanced proficiency in data entry and MS Office, including Excel and WordTechnology competencies and knowledge of software applications (i.e. PowerSchool, SchoolMint, Flat File Editor, USPS, Data Collector, etc.)Experience with help desk ticketing systems preferredAbility to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to consistently meet deadlinesHigh quality written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding and ability to manage confidential informationAbility to work independently and also in a team environmentSuccessful completion of state and federal criminal background checkCompensation and Benefits: The compensation and benefits information below is accurate as of the date of this posting. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.We offer the following benefits for full-time positions, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, 10 paid holidays annually. All eligible employees will participate in Colorado’s Family & Medical Leave Insurance Program, in accordance with state law.Paid Time Off: The amount of Paid Time Off (PTO) employees accrue is determined by both their position and the length of their employment term. 19 days of paid time off for 12-month roles.We offer several plans to choose from, with a wide range of deductibles and co- insurance levels. We offer plans with set co-pays for certain medical services, as well as a high deductible plan with set co-insurance levels after deductibles have been met. All plans offer both in-network and out-of-network coverage.
