Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:Parsons is seeking aDrainage Engineer I or IIto work on a wide variety of small to large-scaletransportation projectsacross the U.S., includingdesign-buildanddesign-bid-buildhighway and roadway projects.You will work in a flexible, team-oriented environment, performing drainage and hydraulic design and supporting state DOT and other transportation clients. We value engineers who are versatile, proactive, and strong communicators with solid analytical and coordination skills.Location:While this is a remote position, candidates MUST BE BASED in the region: Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, or Tennessee What You'll Be Doing:Perform and/or leaddrainage and culvert designfor state DOT roadway and highway projects nationwide.Developdrainage and irrigation designs, includinghydraulic and hydrologic modelinganddrainage calculations.Prepare and review:Construction detailsErosion and sediment control plansQuantity calculations and cost-related estimatesEngineering analyses and technical reportsProduce engineering deliverables such as:Design calculations and reportsDrawings and CAD modelsSpecifications and procurement documentsDesign and installation packagesProposal evaluations and technical memorandaDefine and manage scopes of work, budgets, and schedules; plan tasks and report status to project management.Providetechnical guidanceto CAD Designers/Drafters, junior engineers, and other team members.Support related civil/transportation engineering activities as needed.May serve as adiscipline leadon small to mid-size projects and may supervise one or more junior staff, including providing performance input.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degreein Civil Engineering or a closely related fieldEITcertification3+ yearsof related experience inroadway/highway drainage designProficiency withCADand related engineering softwareExperience with MicroStatio or AutoCAD Civil 3DExperience with acombination of hydraulic/hydrologic modeling tools, such as:HEC-RASHEC-HMSHY-8Bentley InRoads Storm & SanitaryBentley StormCADAquaveo Watershed Modeling System (WMS)NRCS WinTR-55Bentley FlowMasterFHWA Hydraulic ToolboxEPA SWMM (Storm Water Management Model)Preferred Qualifications:PE licensein any U.S. state highly preferredDirect experience onstate DOT transportation projectsExperience with:Highway and roadway drainage systems (inlets, storm sewers, channels, culverts, detention/retention, etc.)Drainage systems design forland developmentprojectsObtainingcanal and stormwater permitsSecurity Clearance Requirement:NoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 80 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
