This role serves as the enterprise owner of the SBL product, with responsibility for product design, pricing, portfolio health, operational controls, regulatory compliance, and margin risk management.The role operates at an enterprise and regulatory-facing level, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and regulators, and ensuring the SBL platform is scalable, resilient, and aligned with the Bank’s risk appetite and growth strategy.Key AccountabilitiesProduct Strategy & Ownership (Enterprise-Level)Owns the end-to-end SBL product lifecycle, including product design, eligibility standards, pricing methodology, collateral frameworks, and ongoing enhancements.Defines and executes the multi-year SBL product roadmap, balancing growth, profitability, client experience, and risk discipline.Ensures SBL product alignment with Wealth, Private Bank, Commercial, Risk, Treasury, Legal, and Operations partners.Acts as the single point of accountability for SBL product decisions, eliminating ambiguity across lines of business.Risk, Credit & Portfolio ManagementExercises senior judgment over credit risk, collateral risk, and margin exposure, ensuring adherence to Corporate Risk Policy and approved Risk Appetite.Oversees margin call frameworks, concentration monitoring, stress testing, and escalation protocols, ensuring no single point of failure.Leads responses to OCC, internal audit, MRIA, and regulatory reviews, including issue remediation and control enhancements.Ensures operational controls are effective, documented, monitored, and remediated where gaps are identified.Financial Performance & Pricing GovernanceOwns product profitability, FTP alignment, pricing discipline, and return on capital.Partners with Treasury and Finance to manage spread performance, funding impacts, and pricing governance.Monitors portfolio trends, utilization, and performance metrics; recommends strategic adjustments as market conditions evolve.Leads independent analysis to resolve complex financial, operational, and risk-related issues.People Leadership & Operating ModelLeads and develops a specialized SBL product and portfolio management team, ensuring clear role ownership and coverage resiliency.Establishes primary and secondary accountability for critical functions (e.g., margin management, pricing, risk monitoring).Attracts, retains, and develops top talent; coaches performance and addresses gaps decisively.Builds an interdependent operating model across Product, Risk, Operations, and Front Line teams.Stakeholder & Regulatory LeadershipActs as the SBL subject matter expert and primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.Serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on SBL strategy, risk posture, and growth opportunities.Influences enterprise decision-making by translating complex risk and product concepts into clear executive insights.Represents SBL in governance forums, committees, and enterprise initiatives.Change, Innovation & Continuous ImprovementAnticipates market, regulatory, and competitive trends impacting secured lending.Leads change management initiatives related to systems, controls, pricing, and client experience.Partners with Technology and Operations on platform enhancements and vendor solutions.Promotes innovation while safeguarding the Bank’s assets and reputation.Risk & Compliance AccountabilityTakes measured risks in alignment with the Risk Management Framework and approved Risk Appetite.Ensures compliance with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.Safeguards client assets, data privacy, and the Bank’s reputation.Provides a superior level of customer service and portfolio management in lending services for all existing and potential clients and in support of a team of specialists and relationship managers. Provides technical expertise for proactive credit analysis, structuring, decisions, and portfolio monitoring. Applies lending expertise to a lending and deposit portfolio of accounts or part of the lending process (e.g. underwriting, funding, monitoring).Manages the preparation of new lending proposals or presentations to clients/prospects.Ensures new business meets policy and procedures requirements for profitability and risk management.Provides advice and support where needed with a focus on unique and complex credit transactions for prospects and clients.Identifies cross-selling opportunities to increase client penetration for banking, investments and deposits.Negotiates directly with clients on new and existing opportunities.Works directly with clients in the event of deteriorating credit situations.Provides day to day technical suppo
