Senior Scrum Master

The Senior Scrum Master at Censis is a key role responsible for driving strong agile execution and delivery consistency across multiple development teams. This role provides full-time Scrum leadership to 2–3 agile teams, improving predictability, strengthening agile discipline, and enabling sustainable delivery.The Senior Scrum Master goes beyond facilitating ceremonies by actively coaching teams, removing impediments, managing cross-team dependencies, and using data to guide continuous improvement. This role also includes hands-on Jira administration to ensure delivery visibility, consistency, and tooling effectiveness.Specific Responsibilities Scrum Leadership & Delivery Execution:Serve as the dedicated Scrum Master for 2–3 agile teamsFacilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and RetrospectivesCoach teams on accountability, ownership, and agile best practicesEnsure clear sprint goals, readiness, and realistic commitmentsIdentify, track, and remove blockers and impedimentsManage cross-team dependencies, risks, and escalationsPartner with Product Owners and Engineering leaders to improve backlog readiness and flowImprove sprint predictability, throughput, and delivery consistencyAgile Practices & Continuous Improvement:Ensure effective backlog refinement and story readinessDrive actionable retrospectives with clear follow-throughPromote consistent agile practices while adapting to team needsIdentify systemic delivery challenges and lead improvement initiativesJira Administration & Reporting:Act as a Jira Administrator / Power User for assigned teamsConfigure and maintain Jira workflows, boards, dashboards, and reportsEnsure consistent Jira usage and data integrity across teamsProvide delivery dashboards and metrics for team and leadership visibilityMetrics, Risk & Communication:Own and monitor delivery metrics and flow indicatorsSurface delivery risks early through inspection and data analysisCommunicate delivery health, risks, and progress clearly to stakeholdersQualificationsScrum Master certification required (CSM, PSM, SAFe SSM, or equivalent)5+ years of experience in software development environments3+ years of experience as a Scrum MasterExperience supporting multiple agile teams simultaneouslyHands-on experience administering JiraExperience working with global or distributed teamsSkillsThe Senior Scrum Master must demonstrate strong servant leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills.
