Reporting to the VP of Brand & Creative, this role will serve as a key steward of brand integrity while helping shape how our parent company, Ashley Furniture, communicates to employees, partners, media, leadership, and customers. This role requires a highly strategic and editorial-minded creative leader with exceptional taste, strong communication instincts, and the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visual storytelling. The ideal candidate brings a balance of creative excellence, organizational leadership, operational rigor, and hands-on execution. You will lead a team responsible for developing communication-driven creative across presentations, executive communications, PR campaigns, social content, events, internal initiatives, and brand storytelling moments — ensuring every touchpoint feels cohesive, elevated, and aligned with Ashley’s evolving brand identity.What You’ll Be Doing:Brand Leadership & Communications StrategyLead and evolve the visual identity of Ashley’s internal and external communicationsEnsure consistency and brand integrity across all communication touchpoints, including executive messaging, PR initiatives, presentations, events, internal campaigns, social, and marketing collateralPartner closely with PR, Communications, Marketing, HR, and Executive Leadership teams to translate business objectives into compelling creative solutionsHelp define and maintain communication-focused brand systems, templates, and style guidesElevate the overall quality, clarity, and sophistication of Ashley’s visual storytellingCreative Direction & ExecutionOversee the development and approval of creative assets across digital, print, experiential, and presentation-based communicationsProvide hands-on creative direction while maintaining a high standard of design excellence and attention to detailDevelop compelling visual narratives that simplify complex information and strengthen audience engagementBring an editorial mindset to storytelling, layout, typography, motion, and content hierarchyEnsure work is both visually impactful and strategically effectiveTeam Leadership & Creative OperationsInspire, mentor, and develop a team of designers and creative contributorsFoster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, innovation, and accountabilityBalance creative quality with speed and efficiency in a fast-paced environmentHelp refine workflows, processes, and creative operations to improve scalability and executionManage multiple priorities and stakeholders while maintaining strong organization and communicationInnovation & Emerging TechnologyExplore and implement new creative technologies, including AI-assisted design workflows and emerging content toolsStay current on industry trends, communication design, editorial systems, and evolving creative platformsIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and creative impact through technology and process improvementsSkills & Qualifications:Experience & Background8+ years of professional design experience with progressive leadership responsibilitiesProven experience leading brand and communication-focused creative initiatives across multiple channelsStrong portfolio demonstrating excellence in brand systems, editorial design, presentations, campaigns, and visual storytellingExperience working within retail, consumer, lifestyle, or agency environments preferredSkills & ExpertiseExceptional typography, layout, and visual storytelling skillsDeep understanding of brand strategy, communications design, and audience engagementAdvanced proficienc
