Accounting Manager – Client Accounting Services (Remote)

**About Scale CPA** We're a remote accounting and tax firm serving 200\+ growing businesses nationwide, with a team of 15\+ CPAs, EAs, and accountants. We specialize in four industries rather than taking whatever walks in the door: tech startups and SaaS, ecommerce and online retail, restaurants and food service, and medspas and medical aesthetics. That focus is deliberate. You'll develop real expertise in SaaS revenue recognition, Amazon FBA settlement reconciliation, POS integration and food costing, prepaid package deferred revenue for med spa clinics and more instead of relearning a new business model with every client. We're tech\-forward by design and run on QuickBooks Online, ClickUp, Fathom, and a growing set of AI tools. We're fully remote, but not a firm where you never meet anyone: once a year the whole team gets together in person, travel and lodging covered. **The Role** You'll own a book of roughly 20–25 monthly clients end to end: the relationship, the close, and the quality of what goes out the door. You'll also oversee two junior bookkeepers, reviewing their work and helping them grow. This is a hands\-on role — you'll be in the file some weeks and in review the others, depending on what the client needs. We back a 48\-hour response guarantee, so responsiveness to clients matters here as much as technical accuracy. **What You'll Do** * Own the monthly close for your book, including reviewing reconciliations, posting adjusting entries, and delivering financials on time * Serve as the primary point of contact for your clients via email, video calls, and Loom * Review the work of two junior bookkeepers, give feedback, and keep them unblocked * Track deliverables and deadlines across the full portfolio * Prepare and submit sales tax filings and Form 1099s * Build and update cash flow forecasts and budgets * Investigate accounting issues, diagnose root causes, and put fixes in place * Partner with our Tax and Advisory teams so clients get one coordinated answer rather than two separate ones * Help improve how we work, including process, templates, and automation **What We're Looking For** * 5\+ years of bookkeeping or client accounting experience * Strong QuickBooks Online skills, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation * Experience managing client relationships directly, and comfort explaining a P\&L to a founder or owner who doesn't read financials * Some supervisory or review experience; this is not an individual contributor role * Associate's degree or higher in Accounting preferred * Comfort with project management tools such as ClickUp preferred * Interest in AI, automation, and reporting tools like Fathom is a plus * Experience with SaaS, ecommerce, restaurant, or medspa clients is a strong plus, but not required * Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a growing firm where not every process is finished yet **Compensation \& Benefits** * $80,000 – $90,000 per year, dependi
