Job Description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for pharmacokinetics and systems biology professionals experienced in PK/PD modeling, SBML-based tools, libRoadRunner, Tellurium, Python scientific computing, and benchmark evaluation workflows. This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on pharmacokinetics and systems biology problem design, scientific software evaluation, simulation workflow development, Python-based validation, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will design challenging research-grade computational problems, create precise expected outputs, develop validation logic, and refine task difficulty based on structured calibration feedback.Key ResponsibilitiesProfessionals in this role may contribute to:Computational PK/PD & Systems Biology Problem DesignDesign original graduate-level computational problems grounded in real pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and systems biology workflowsCreate tasks involving compartmental modeling, enzyme kinetics, systems biology simulations, and scientific software useDevelop problems that require precise outputs from fully specified computational setupsDesign tasks that test strategic reasoning, experimental planning, query design, and interpretation of partial simulation outputsScientific Software & Simulation Workflow EvaluationWork with libRoadRunner, Tellurium, SBML-based tools, or related scientific softwareDesign problems involving compartmental PK/PD modeling, enzyme kinetics, pathway simulations, and systems biology model behaviorEvaluate simulation setup, parameter reasoning, model interpretation, and computational workflow correctnessIdentify edge cases, software limitations, model sensitivity issues, or reasoning traps that make a task genuinely challengingPython-Based Validation & Benchmark CalibrationWrite Python problem setups, oracle functions, and solution validatorsRefine tasks through calibration feedback until the difficulty reaches the target rangeEvaluate whether tasks require real scientific reasoning rather than surface-level pattern matchingMaintain technical accuracy, reproducibility, and clear documentation across submitted task materialsIdeal ProfileStrong candidates may have:Graduate-level expertise in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, systems biology, computational biology, bioengineering, pharmacology, or a closely related STEM fieldMS, PhD, or equivalent research experience in a relevant domainHands-on experience using libRoadRunner, Tellurium, SBML-based tools, or other specialized scientific software in real research workflowsStrong Python programming skills for scientific computing, validation logic, and task setupAbility to design difficult problems where the challenge comes from reasoning strategy rather than brute computationComfort working independently and iterating on problem designs based on feedbackAbility to work in Linux, terminal-based environments, or remote compute sandboxesEducational BackgroundMS, PhD, or equivalent research experience in pharmacokinetics, systems biology, computational biology, bioengineering, pharmacology, biomedical engineering, or a related scientific field is preferredResearch publications, open-source contributions, professional scientific software work, or applied computational research experience are highly relevantExperience writing scientific code to solve actual research problems is especially valuableNice to HaveExperience across multiple scientific software tools, simulation environments, or computational modeling domainsFamiliarity with benchmark design, evaluation design, calibration workflows, or scientific task validationBackground in scientific pedagogy, exam design, problem-set creation, or graduate-level technical assessmentExperience with computational reproducibility, containerized environments, remote compute, or research software packagingAbility to commit approximately 15–20 hours per week depending on project availability and scopeWhy This OpportunityApply pharmacokinetics and systems biology expertise to structured remote scientific problem design workContribute to high-quality benchmark tasks involving PK/PD modeling, SBML-based simulations, and Python-based validationWork on flexible assignments aligned with your research background and scientific software experienceUse your ability to design rigorous, strategic, research-grade computational problemsRemote structure with competitive hourly compensationContract DetailsIndependent contractor roleFully remote with flexible schedulingEligible professionals may be based in approved project locations depending on project needsExpected commitment of approximately 15–20 hours per week depending on project availabilityCompetitive rates between $60–$90 per hour depending on expertise and project scopeWeekly payments via Stripe or WiseProjects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performanceWork will not involve access to confi
