**About the Position:**
Swyfft runs on data. Multi\-terabyte transactional and analytical databases that power instant quoting, binding, and claims servicing across our home and commercial package products. We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Database Administrator to serve as the strong second to our Director of Database Services and help own the health, performance, security, and reliability of our database estate. You’ll work hands\-on across SQL Server (on\-premises and on Azure VMs) and Azure SQL (PaaS) tuning queries, safeguarding data, managing backups and recovery, and keeping our ETL pipelines running. This is a highly technical role for someone who genuinely enjoys living in the data tier.

**Key Responsibilities: (What you'll be asked to do)**
* Administer and maintain a variety of multi\-terabyte databases across both SQL Server (on\-premises and Azure VMs) and Azure SQL (PaaS) platforms.
* Own backup, restore, and recovery. Design, automate, and regularly test backups to meet defined RPO and RTO targets, and lead recovery efforts when needed.
* Monitor and tune database and query performance; diagnose and resolve bottlenecks, blocking, and indexing issues across high\-volume transactional and analytical workloads.
* Implement and maintain database security and data privacy controls, including access management, encryption, and auditing in line with our regulatory obligations.
* Design, build, and maintain SSIS ETL packages and other data integration and data movement workflows.
