Job Description

**Location:** Remote (US only) **Employment Type:** W\-2, part\-time to start (\~20 hrs/week) with a clear path to full\-time **Compensation:** $22–$29/hr part\-time, or $50,000–$65,000/year once full\-time (based on experience) **About Unturned** Unturned is a fast\-growing returns management and liquidation platform serving Amazon sellers. We inspect returned inventory, file reimbursement claims against Amazon for missing and damaged units, handle FBA/FBM shipments, and liquidate recovered products through eBay, Shopify, and live auction channels. To date, we've recovered over $1,200,000 for our clients. We're focused on scaling the platform, cleaning up tech debt from our first year in the market, and making the product faster, more reliable, and easier to build on. **About the Role** You'll be joining a small, lean engineering team of two developers. You'll be the third technical hire and the first full\-time\-track engineer. This is a hands\-on coding role. You'll touch real production code in your first week. You'll ship fixes that real customers feel. You'll also get exposure to Amazon SP\-API, eBay API, Stripe and Shopify integrations, which is experience that's rare and valuable to get at a junior level. **What You'll Actually Do (First 90 Days)** * **Bug fixes and small features** to start, learning the codebase by working in it * **Tech debt cleanup and refactoring.** Our codebase has grown fast, and we need someone who can help us pay down what we accumulated while scaling * **Building new modules end\-to\-end** once you've ramped up, with code review and collaboration from the team By day 90, the goal is for you to be shipping meaningful features independently. **Must\-Haves** * Solid **Python** fundamentals (you can read and write Python code without relying on outside sources like AI or Googling for basics) * Working knowledge of **Django** (models, views, templates, migrations, the ORM) * Comfort with **Git** and pull request workflows * Ability to read existing code and understand what it's doing before changing it * Strong written communication. This is a remote role, and clarity in writing matters **Nice\-to\-Haves (Not Required)** * Experience with **Celery / Redis** or other async task queues * **PostgreSQL** beyond basic queries * Any exposure to third\-party APIs (Amazon SP\-API, eBay, Shopify, Stripe, etc.) * Familiarity with **DigitalOcean**, Docker, or Linux server basics * Open\-source contributions, personal projects, or a GitHub profile with real code we can look at **Who This Role Is For** * You want to learn by building real things that make immediate impact * You're comfortable with ambiguity and can figure things out when the answer isn't obvious * You take ownership of your work. When something breaks, you want to understand *why*, not just patch it * You communicate directly. You'll share your perspective when you disagree, and you handle feedback the same way * You're curious about the business
