Job Description

We’re hiring a Part\-Time HR Specialist (25\-30 hours/week) to serve as 30 Lines’ dedicated people operations resource. You’ll work directly with leadership and be the go\-to person for everything HR: compliance, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, and the systems that tie it all together. This is a build role, not a maintenance role. You’ll audit and update the employee handbook, establish multi\-state compliance processes, set up Asana\-based HR workflows, and clear an existing backlog of HR questions—then build the systems to make sure it doesn’t come back. ### **About 30 Lines** Our goal is to create easy, remarkable experiences for marketers and their customers. 30 Lines is a growing marketing technology studio, twice named to the Inc. 5000 list. We offer a competitive salary, health insurance, 401(k) with a match, educational support, bonus opportunities, work from home/anywhere program, competitive vacation and leave policies, and much more. We believe you should work when and where you're most productive – we provide a flexible but consistent workweek so you can focus on your side hustle or spend time with your tribe. We limit internal meetings, so at least 40% of your week is always dedicated to getting deep work done. If you’re looking for a trailblazing yet relaxed environment where your voice can be heard and you can learn and grow, then we want to hear from you! ### **Description** **What You’ll Do** ================== **HR Infrastructure \& Policy** ------------------------------- * Build and maintain the employee handbook, policies, and SOPs for a fully remote team * Design onboarding and offboarding processes with documented checklists in Asana * Create and manage personnel files and confidential HR documentation * Establish performance review cadence aligned with EOS quarterly Rock cycles * Clear the existing HR task backlog and maintain an ongoing improvement queue **Multi\-State Compliance** --------------------------- * Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across all states where team members reside * Track evolving requirements: pay transparency, PFML, wage/hour laws, anti\-discrimination protections * Manage state tax registration, SUI, and workers’ comp obligations for new jurisdictions * Partner with Gusto and Mosey to implement compliance changes and register in new states * Ensure proper W\-2 vs. 1099 classification for all workers **Benefits \& Compensation** ---------------------------- * Administer health insurance, retirement plans, and PTO programs * Own employee education and home office stipends—purchasing, tracking, and reconciliation * Coordinate open enrollment and serve as liaison with benefits providers * Support payroll coordination by ensuring accurate data in Gusto **Employee Relations \& Culture** --------------------------------- * Serve as the primary contact for HR questions—policies, benefits, leave, workplace concerns * Facilitate resolution o
