STEM Tutor, High School Math and/or Science

Swell Education, a boutique San Francisco Bay Area tutoring company, seeks expert instructors to support students in high school academics for the 2026\-2027 school year. We have a great client base of nice families with motivated students. We are looking for a few of the best tutors out there to help our students excel. We are interested in hearing from candidates with expertise in high school STEM subject areas, including math from algebra through calculus (regular, honors, AP, and/or IB) and high school science courses such as chemistry, biology, physics, and environmental science. The ideal tutor is charismatic, whip\-smart, and comfortable with a high degree of autonomy. We are looking for candidates who can start in August 2026 or later and commit through June 2027 or beyond. Candidates should have the following qualifications: \-\-Mastery of the material (eg AP or IB exams, math, sciences) \-\-Great communication skills and the ability to engage students \-\-Strong work ethic and desire to drive for results \-\-Degree from top college or university \-\-Minimum 1 year teaching or tutoring experience \-\-A flexible schedule, with some availability in the evenings or on weekends Teachers are hired to tutor students one\-on\-one, primarily during evenings and weekends. This is a part\-time position: many of our instructors maintain full\-time positions, explore other interests, or pursue advanced degrees concurrently. Instructors can expect to teach between 1 and 8 hours per week, depending on skill set, availability, demand, and preferences.
