Must be located near a major airport.Travel Requirements:Up to 75% domestic travel; relocation may be considered for long-term project needs. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to rent vehicles.JOB SUMMARYThe Commissioning Field Technician III is a technical commissioning role responsible for executing tests, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting commissioning plans. This position builds upon the foundation developed in our Commissioning Field Technician I and II positions, requiring an increased level of independent work and technical problem-solving.The Commissioning Field Technician III will receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. May work independently, consistently exercising discretion and independent judgment on individual work, or may work under immediate supervision. May serve as lead on routine projects of limited scope.This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerform On-site Inspection, Validation, Testing and Verification of Electrical and Mechanical Equipment (50%)Participate in factory witness testingObserve startup activitiesUse technical equipment to perform testingPerform functional testing of equipment and electrical, mechanical and controls systemsTroubleshoot system componentsDevelop Testing Plans and Procedures (20%)Assist in the development of commissioning plansPrepare pre-functional checklistsPrepare functional performance test scriptsReview Construction Related Design Documents, Drawings and Specifications (15%)Review shop drawings and submittalsReview sequence of operationsAssist in commissioning focused design reviewsReporting (10%)Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholdersAssist in preparation and contributes to final commissioning reportManage personal hours using company toolsTechnology, Digital Tools & AI-Enabled Efficiency (5%)Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, high-quality work output.Identify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, seeking out new technologies, skills, and methods that elevate individual and team performance.Adapt to emerging technologies and evolving digital workflows, actively supporting the integration and adoption of innovative tools across the organization.Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on BudgetPerforms Other Related Duties as AssignedPOSITION REQUIREMENTS (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE)Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and controls system principlesSkilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file managementSkilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detailAbility to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation.Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspaceAbility to follow company and site safety requirementsAbility to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondenceAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contactAbility to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervisionAbility to work under pressure and meet close deadlinesAbility to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as / if requiredOrganizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyPHYSICAL DEMANDS The following physical demands must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
