We are a fast\-growing, tech\-forward remote firm seeking a highly analytical **Advanced Clean\-Up Bookkeeper** who specializes in forensic diagnostic reviews, deep\-dive historical clean\-ups in QuickBooks Online, and **leveraging AI to revolutionize the accounting process.** If you are a 10\+ year accounting veteran who loves data forensics and actively uses AI and automation (like ChatGPT, Gemini, and App Script) to work faster, smarter, and more accurately, we want you on our team. **The Path \& Compensation:** * **Type:** Contract\-to\-Hire (Transition to W\-2 Full\-Time Employment after 90 days). * **Pay Rate:** **$30\.00 – $32\.00 per hour** (Based on experience). **What You’ll Do (Advanced Clean\-Up \& AI Responsibilities)** From the initial review to the hands\-on cleanup, you will handle the audit of historical data: * **Forensic Reconstruction:** Untangle multi\-year messy books, handle complex book\-to\-tax reconciliations, and bring historical data into absolute compliance. * **AI\-Driven Automation:** Actively identify repetitive data entry bottlenecks during the clean\-up phase. You will use AI tools to parse messy data, generate formulas, and write App Scripts to automate data migration and cleaning. * **Balance Sheet Auditing:** Diagnose and fix chronic issues including negative inventory, stubborn payroll liability balances, sales tax discrepancies, and miscategorized shareholder distributions. * **The "Clean\-Up" Core:** Ruthlessly clean up and reconcile neglected accounts, sub\-ledgers, prepaid expenses, fixed asset purchases, and the dreaded Undeposited Funds loop. * **App \& API Integration Clean\-Up:** Audit and fix broken syncs from third\-party applications (E\-commerce, Stripe, POS,, payroll platforms) mapping into QBO, utilizing data exports and complex journal entries to restore balance. **Who You Are (Requirements)** * **The Diagnostic Expert:** **10\+ years** of hands\-on bookkeeping/accounting experience, with at least 3\-5 years heavily focused on complex historical clean\-ups. * **The AI Innovator:** **Proven experience incorporating AI into your accounting workflow.** You know how to prompt LLMs (like ChatGPT or Gemini) to help format data, write Google Sheets/Excel macros, or troubleshoot complex transaction patterns. * **The QBO Master:** Advanced proficiency in **QuickBooks Online is mandatory**.
