We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.About the RoleWe’re looking for a Customer Solutions Architect (CSA) to join our Enterprise team, focused on driving adoption, value realisation and expansion across our existing customer base. The CSA is the primary post-sales technical owner for Enterprise customers. Working alongside Account Executives (AEs) and Sales Engineers (SEs), the CSA ensures that customers not only successfully deploy Fivetran, but continue to scale and expand its usage over time.This role operates as a technical account manager and strategic advisor, acting as the bridge between initial onboarding success and long-term growth. The CSA owns the technical narrative post-go-live, guding customers through architecture evolution, adoption, and expansion initiatives.Unlike implementation-focused roles, the CSA is a non-billable, expansion-focused position, measured on driving incremental ARR, adoption, and Net Revenue Retention (NRR).You will act as a trusted advisor, advocate and accelerator for your customers - ensuring they derive maximum value from their data investments while aligning their technical roadmap with Fivetran’s platform capabilities.This is a full-time, remote position based in Japan.Technologies You’ll Work Databases: SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgresData Platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, RedshiftLanguages: SQL, Python, bash or powershellNetworking: SSH tunneling, VPNs, PrivateLinkModern Data Stack tools and ecosystem technologiesWhat You’ll DoCustomer Adoption & Value RealisationOwn post-sales technical engagement across assigned Enterprise accountsDrive adoption, optimisation and ongoing usage of FivetranDeliver enablement sessions, workshops and best-practice guidanceMonitor account health signals (usage, performance, support trends) and proactively intervene where neededEnsure customers move from initial deployment to sustained, scalable successExpansion & Growth EnablementIdentify, validate and execute expansion opportunities across business units, regions and use-casesTranslate customer initiatives into scalable data workloads and technical solutionsPartner with AEs to drive incremental ARR through structured expansion playsLead technical validation of new workloads, including workshops and (where necessary) POCsReplicate successful use-cases across the organisation to accelerate growthTechnical Strategy & ArchitectureAct as the chief technical stakeholder for assigned accounts post-go-liveDefine and maintain Enterprise Reference Architectures aligned to customer environmentsEnsure architectural consistency and scalability across all implementationsGuide customers on best practices for data pipelines, automation, and platform adoptionMaintain technical artefacts such as architecture documentation, design patterns, and knowledge basesStakeholder Engagement & AlignmentBuild and maintain relationships with technical, operational and executive stakeholdersDevelop and maintain stakeholder maps and multi-threaded engagement strategiesRun regular technical cadence calls, business reviews and roadmap sessionsAlign customer technical strategy with business objectives and commercial plansInternal & Partner CollaborationAct as the technical orchestrator across Sales, Professional Services, Product and EngineeringAdvocate for customer needs internally, influencing product roadmap and prioritiesCollaborate with technology partners (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, GCP) to drive joint valueEnsure alignment between delivery teams and long-term expansion strategyStrategic Account PlanningContribute to Mutual Account Plans (MAPs) and own Mutual Success Plans (MSPs)Map whitespace opportunities across business units, subsidiaries and use-casesMaintain a structured view of expansion opportunities and workload pipelinesAlign technical execution with long-term account growth strategySkills We’re Looking ForProven experience in a Solution Architect, Technical Account Manager, or similar customer-facing technical roleStrong ability to own and drive customer outcomes post-sale, including adoption and expansionExperience designing scalable data architectures and working within modern data ecosystemsAbility to translate business objectives into technical solutions and measurable outcomesStrong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiencesProactive, self-sufficient and highly organised approach to managing multiple accountsComfortable operating strategically while also engaging in deep technical discussionsBonus SkillsExperience working with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)Background in data integration, ET
