Accounts Payable Specialist

**Overview** We are seeking a highly motivated and detail\-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast\-paced environment where your skills in data entry, reconciliation, and financial analysis will make a meaningful impact. **Responsibilities** * Process and verify all incoming invoices using various financial software such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. * Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies related to accounts payable transactions. * Manage vendor setup, maintenance, and communication to facilitate smooth payment cycles. * Prepare and review journal entries related to accounts payable activities, including accruals and adjustments. * Ensure adherence to internal controls and SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) compliance standards throughout all processes. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams including procurement, finance, and human resources for seamless data entry and process improvements. * Maintain detailed records of all transactions, supporting documentation, and audit trails for internal and external audits. **Qualifications** * Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on accounts payable or related functions. * Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and double\-entry bookkeeping. * Proficiency with financial software systems including Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, PeopleSoft or Ceridian; experience with QuickBooks or Quicken is a plus. * Skilled in Excel data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP functions, pivot tables, and data reconciliation techniques. * Familiarity with payroll management systems and benefits administration processes. * Ability to perform high\-volume data entry accurately with 10\-key typing skills. * Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting. * Knowledge of governmental or non\-profit accounting practices is advantageous but not required.
