They support businesses through training, technology, and consulting services that help ensure regulatory compliance, improve workplace safety, and enhance operational efficiency.Overview: We are seeking a Database Architect to design, manage, and optimize both our application data architecture and data warehousing environment. This role will define database schemas, ensure data consistency, and maintain performance across transactional and analytical systems. In our organization, this role plays a key part in ensuring our data layer supports scalable application development and reliable reporting. The Database Architect works closely with Engineering, Product, and leadership to align data design with business workflows, analytics, and system performance. This role requires strong technical expertise across relational databases and modern data platforms such as Snowflake.Responsibilities:Data Architecture & Schema DesignDesign and maintain database schemas aligned to business workflows and productrequirementsDefine standards for data modeling, naming conventions, and structure acrosssystemsEnsure consistency between transactional systems and analytics platformsReview and approve schema changes to maintain integrity and scalabilityData Warehousing & Analytics ArchitectureDesign and manage data models within Snowflake or similar platformsDefine data pipelines and structures to support reporting and analyticsEnsure data is structured for efficient querying and business intelligence usePartner with stakeholders to support reporting, dashboards, and data access needsDatabase Performance & OptimizationMonitor and optimize performance across both application databases and datawarehouse environmentsImprove query performance, indexing strategies, and data access patternsIdentify and resolve bottlenecks across transactional and analytical workloadsEnsure systems operate efficiently under expected load and growthData Integrity & GovernanceEnsure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data across systemsDefine rules for data validation, relationships, and constraintsImplement governance practices for data quality, lineage, and usageEstablish standards for managing schema changes and data accessScalability & ReliabilityDesign systems to support growth in data volume and system usageDefine strategies for partitioning, replication, and scalingEnsure high availability and disaster recovery planningSupport backup, restore, and failover processesCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Engineering to align database design with application architectureWork with Product and Business Analysts to translate workflows into data modelsSupport analytics and reporting teams with well-structured data modelsProvide guidance on data-related decisions across teamsStandards & Best PracticesDefine and enforce database and data platform standards across the organizationGuide teams on proper data access, modeling, and performance practicesReview implementations to ensure alignment with architecture standardsContinuously improve how data is structured and used across systemsDocumentation & VisibilityMaintain clear documentation of schemas, data models, and data flowsEnsure data structures are understandable and accessible across teamsTrack changes to database and warehouse structures over timeProvide visibility into data health, performance, and risksQualifications:Required5–10 years of experience in database architecture, data engineering, or related rolesStrong experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar)Experience designing and working with Snowflake or similar data warehouse platformsDeep understanding of data modeling for both transactional and analytical systemsExperience optimizing database and warehouse performanceStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailPreferredExperience with data pipelines and ETL/ELT processesExperience with cloud platforms such as AWSFamiliarity with data governance, lineage, and auditing practicesExperience in compliance-driven or regulated environmentsTools & Platforms (Preferred Experience)SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databasesSnowflake or similar data warehouse platforms (Redshift, BigQuery)AWS RDS, Aurora, or equivalent cloud database servicesData pipeline or orchestration toolsDatabase monitoring and performance toolsJiraConfluencePower BI or other BI/reporting platformsCollaboration tools such as Zoom and chat platformsFamiliarity with EOS / Ninety or similar operating frameworks is helpful but not requiredWhat Success Looks Like in This RoleData architecture supports both application performance and analytics needsSnowflake or equivalent platform is structured for efficient reporting and scaleData is consistent and reliable across transactional and reporting systemsEngineering
