Medical Billing Specialist

**This is NOT a remote position.** **Duties** \- Review and verify medical billing information for accuracy and completeness \- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail \- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials to ensure timely reimbursement \- Resolve billing discrepancies and answer inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers \- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines \- Stay updated on insurance regulations, coding changes, and billing procedures **Skills** \- Proficient in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems \- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, ICD\-10 codes, and insurance guidelines \- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation \- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers \- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast\-paced environment \- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
