Our brand is part of a global open source ecosystem. We encourage adoption through community engagement. We build credibility and trust through advocacy and thought leadership. The ideal person for this role is driven to develop and implement social media strategies focused on long-term brand equity and differentiation. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, technology marketing and the use of technology in marketing. They would love to gain experience translating strategy into impact, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. They enjoy learning and improving themselves, the team and the organization. They problem solve, get hands-on, experiment, measure and use automation and AI to make daily life easier. To succeed in this role, the candidate must be driven, organized and attentive to detail. This is a senior role reporting to the director of communications.Location:This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.What your day will look likeDevelop and own the communications strategy across multiple channels, with a focus on excellent planning, messaging quality and timely deliveryDeliver regular analysis and reporting on various communications channels, content performance and campaigns resultsSupport the growth and nurturing of Canonical’s enterprise audience, while increasing product adoptionDevelop flair with copywriting and asset creation to create messaging that aligns with the brand and its personality, and drives audiences towards actionBe audience centric and use modern tools to understand market sentiment Create awareness on integrated campaigns, product launches, webinar series, industry announcements and core content.Package all of Canonical’s product offerings and educational material creatively, while overseeing distribution strategy and alignment across channelsWhat we are looking for in youUnderstanding of best practices for communications in tech Deep experience with all major social media platforms with strong creative judgementHands-on knowledge of social media management and analytics toolsInterest in mentorship and team developmentAn analytical eye and the ability to develop measuring frameworks to inform senior decision makingExceptional interpersonal skills and aptitude for forging trusting relationships across diverse, cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with campaign objectives, paid media strategies and PR/AR initiativesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, strong content marketerProven ability to prioritize and differentiate what matters from the noise, meeting deadlines without sacrificing qualityProcess owner for organic social media, establishing standards and leading planning and distribution across channelsInterest in video and production, with some projects or strong thoughts on the use of video in social mediaWillingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal or external eventsWhat we offer youYour base pay will depend on various factors including your geographical location, level of experience, knowledge and skills.
