As an equal opportunity employer, we strive to break down barriers and ensure every team member feels seen, heard, and supported.Topline:COURIER seeks a Vice President of Social to join its national division.Reporting to the Managing Director of COURIER’s national team, the VP will build and maintain a robust social media presence for @CourierNewsroom’s social accounts across all platforms — including video-based platforms (Instagram and TikTok) and text-based platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Threads, LinkedIn, and Bluesky).Role & responsibilities include:Steer National brand’s editorial and digital engagement strategy across all relevant social media platforms to achieve audience reach, engagement, acquisition and online fundraising goals Direct content creation (graphics & video) informed by COURIER editorial drumbeats, including brainstorming new ideas and managing projects from concept to completionClosely monitor current events to create relevant social content that aligns with COURIER’s editorial prioritiesIdentify and establish media-sharing partnerships with content creators, mission-aligned organizations, celebrities, and influential social personalities that expand audience reach, content distribution and growth opportunitiesDirect national social content, talent-led social products, and collaborative partnershipsTrack, analyze and report on social KPIs, providing actionable recommendations to improve performance based on the data findingsTest and optimize social content, publishing and distribution strategies to improve resultsDrive measurable audience conversion from social platforms to COURIER’s newsletters, podcasts, web shows, and other owned productsLead COURIER national’s marketing efforts, in coordination with HQ support staffCreate and maintain a regular social marketing calendar, promoting COURIER’s national products (newsletters, web shows, podcasts, etc.) with measurable growth and engagement resultsLead and develop National social team, staff, establishing clear expectations and accountability, while serving as a mentorSend bi-weekly round-ups of national content to COURIER’s marketing listManage independent social contractorsThe ideal candidate will have some of the following:Minimum of 8 years of experience in social content curation and creationA political expert in their own right, with a strong understanding of the national and gubernatorial political landscape and the ability to quickly and accurately break down the newsStrong background in political content creation, with preference given to candidates with newsroom, campaign, advocacy organization, or PAC experienceGraphic design experience (required for this role)Strong knowledge of best practices in social video publishingExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for designVideo editing skills are not required but preferredCompensation and benefitsThe annual salary for this role starts at $120,000Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO), 11 paid holidays a yearFull suite of health benefitsFlexible working arrangements$500 home office reimbursementSalary: Starting at $120k annuallyOriginally posted on Himalayas
