Job Title – Advanced Specialist, Legal Counsel/Contract ManagementDescription Join Pearson Professional Assessments as a Senior Legal Specialist leading complex contract negotiations and compliance across global technology and assessment businesses.About the rolePearson Professional Assessments is looking for an Advanced Specialist, Legal Counsel/Contract Management to join its legal team, supporting the Certiport and e-commerce businesses.In this role, you will act as a key legal partner across the organisation, working closely with internal stakeholders, external clients, vendors, and third parties to ensure contracts are structured, negotiated, and executed effectively.You will play a critical role in safeguarding Pearson’s legal interests, while enabling commercial outcomes through strong contract strategy, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration.What you’ll doLead the drafting, review, and negotiation of a broad range of agreements, including:Customer contractsVendor agreementsSoftware and technology agreementsEnsure all contracts align with legal and regulatory requirements while proactively identifying and mitigating riskPartner with internal teams to gather key inputs and support the preparation of legal documentationMonitor business practices to ensure ongoing compliance with contractual and legal obligationsApply current legal developments to evolving business needs and contract structuresAct as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and senior legal leadershipManage relationships with external counsel, clients, vendors, and third partiesCommunicate clearly and effectively during negotiations and legal discussionsSupport legal research initiatives and contribute to projects in emerging areas of lawMaintain, organise, and improve legal templates, agreements, and documentation processesWhat we’re looking forStrong experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal risk analysis within a commercial environmentExcellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across functionsExperience working with technology-related agreements, including software or licensing contractsAbility to manage multiple priorities and operate independently in a fast-paced environmentStrong cross-functional collaboration skills, working across legal, business, and operational teamsSolid understanding of legal compliance and corporate legal policiesExperience supporting vendor, client, and third-party contractual relationshipsFamiliarity with government contracting processes is advantageousQualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) preferred, or equivalent experience in contract management or legal supportProficiency in Microsoft Word, including legal document formattingExperience reviewing contracts, statements of work (SOWs), amendments, and legal correspondenceLocation & working patternThis is a full time, Remote position ideally based out of the US or UK.Compensation:Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
