Part-Time Bookkeeper (QuickBooks Online)

**MELT'D** is an exciting new fast\-casual restaurant concept opening in San Diego. We're looking for an experienced bookkeeper to set up our accounting systems and become our long\-term bookkeeping partner as we grow. This is an excellent opportunity for an independent bookkeeper who enjoys working with small businesses and startups. Position Type * Part\-time * Mostly remote * Flexible schedule * Long\-term relationship During the initial launch, additional hours will be required to set up our accounting system. Once established, we anticipate approximately **4–8 hours per month**, with additional hours as the company expands. ResponsibilitiesInitial Setup * Set up and optimize **QuickBooks Online** * Create and organize the Chart of Accounts for a restaurant business * Connect bank and credit card accounts * Set up **QuickBooks Online Payroll** * Configure California sales tax settings * Integrate **QuickBooks Online** with **Otter** and ensure sales data flows correctly * Verify proper recording of sales, payment processing fees, delivery platform commissions, taxes, and deposits * Establish efficient bookkeeping procedures and monthly workflows Ongoing Responsibilities * Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations * Maintain accurate bookkeeping records * Categorize transactions and expenses * Process payroll through **QuickBooks Online Payroll** * Prepare and file California sales tax returns (CDTFA) * Prepare payroll tax filings through QuickBooks * Reconcile Otter sales with bank deposits * Verify DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub payouts and commissions * Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies * Prepare monthly Profit \& Loss and Balance Sheet reports * Prepare year\-end financial records for our CPA Qualifications * Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience * Advanced proficiency with **QuickBooks Online** (required) * Experience with **QuickBooks Online Payroll** (required) * Experience integrating QuickBooks with POS or restaurant management systems * Restaurant or hospitality bookkeeping experience strongly preferred * Knowledge of California sales tax and payroll requirements * Excellent attention to detail * Self\-motivated and able to work independently Compensation **$45–$55 per hour**, depending on experience and qualifications.
