At Apex, you don’t just join a company, you help shape what comes next.Our Northeast Division is a well-respected and award-winning group where career development, training, and mentoring co-exist with diverse civil, environmental, water resources, and traffic/transportation projects in a fast-paced and rewarding work environment.We are seeking a talented Senior Project Manager for our Drinking Water Division to provide technical leadership on a variety of water system design-related projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, and water distribution systems.  This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the US.Primary Responsibilities:Supervise and direct individuals or teams of technical staff or Project Managers on multiple complex projects and/or less complex projectsConsistently demonstrate leadership skills in project execution, client interactions, and business developmentLead construction administration tasks, including:Construction progress meetingsSubmittal reviewsPreparation of meeting agendas and minutesReview of daily and weekly construction reportsPreparation of payment applications, RFIs, and change ordersCoordination with field staff and designersProject closeout and tracking construction schedulesAssist in training, mentorship, and technical development of Project Managers and staff through:Holding training seminarsProviding technical guidance during project executionBringing new technical developments in-houseConsult with technical staff and Project Managers on technical issues and provide QA/QC reviews on projects outside of their direct involvementRecognize potential risks related to nonstandard technical matters or legal disputes and participate in required insurance training to minimize liabilityWork with minimal direction or supervision, demonstrating success with similar project responsibilitiesOversee technical accuracy of projects through:Regular communication with project staffReview of plans, specifications, reports, and calculationsEnsuring compliance with firm standardsMake technical presentations to clients and at public meetings to review and discuss project detailsLead projects from development through completion by identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimates, and implementation plans, including QA/QC and risk managementAct as a Public Relations Ambassador by proactively presenting and communicating the company's capabilities and strengthSolicit New Clients/Projects by:Identifying and seeking out new project opportunitiesSetting up meetings and participating in proposal developmentCross-selling additional practice areasPrepare proposals, participate in project interviews, attend and contribute to public meetings, develop fee proposals, and present information to potential clientsParticipate in professional associations and conferences by presenting or authoring technical papers.Prepare contracts, subcontracts, and negotiate fees associated with new projects.What we're looking for: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline12+ years of related experience, with at least 8 years of specialized experience in drinking waterProfessional engineering licenseRelevant project management experiencePrevious experience in the consulting engineering industryStrong experience working with local clients and regulatory agenciesAbility to work both in the field and in office settingsStrong written and verbal communication skillsValid driver’s license and clean driving recordWhy you'll love working for us:Company-subsidized medical and dental.Company-paid life, short, and long-term disability.401k match, tuition assistance, and more.Cross-training and the ability to work on a variety of projects.Performance-based bonuses or other incentives.Working with the best and brightest in the industry.2,000+ employee national firm with 70+ locations across the US.Apex Job Title: Sr Pro
