**Position Overview**
DSN is seeking a DevOps Engineer II to join a federal government engineering team supporting the delivery and operation of mission\-critical software systems. This role is well suited to a candidate with 3\-5 years of hands\-on DevOps experience who is ready to take on more ownership within a federal engineering environment. Due to the sensitive nature of the program, specific project and mission details are shared with candidates as they progress through the interview process.
**Team Structure**
This position works closely with a cross\-functional engineering team, including full stack developers building applications on Angular (front end) and Java and PHP (back end), with AI\-assisted development support. The role also partners closely with manual QA testers to ensure release quality and stability. This is a fully remote position; candidates must be able to work core hours aligned to U.S. Eastern Time.
**Responsibilities**
* Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines supporting Angular, Java, and PHP application deployments
* Manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
* Support containerization and orchestration efforts using Docker and Kubernetes
* Collaborate with full stack developers and manual QA testers to streamline build, test, and release cycles
* Monitor system performance, availability, and security posture across environments
* Assist with troubleshooting and resolving deployment and infrastructure issues
* Support compliance with applicable federal security and configuration management requirements
* Participate in on\-call rotation and incident response as needed
* Document pipeline configurations, infrastructure changes, and standard operating procedures
**Requirements**
* 3\-5 years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or infrastructure automation role
* Hands\-on experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
* Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools
* Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
* Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
* Solid understanding of version control workflows (Git)
* Experience supporting cloud, on\-premises, or hybrid environments
* Prior experience supporting federal government or defense\-related programs is strongly preferred
* Familiarity with federal security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST 800\-53, RMF) is a plus
* An active or prior security clearance is not
