**Duties**
* Process incoming payments via various methods, including checks, electronic transfers, and credit card transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
* Perform detailed account analysis and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy in receivables records.
* Maintain and update customer accounts with precise data entry, adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.
* Follow up on overdue accounts through professional negotiation and effective communication to secure payment while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
* Prepare journal entries related to accounts receivable transactions and ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) controls.
* Assist with month\-end closing procedures, including aging reports and revenue cycle management activities.
* Support other accounting functions such as accounts payable and general ledger entries as needed, utilizing software like PeopleSoft or Financial software systems.

**Experience**
* Proven experience in accounts receivable functions within a corporate or public accounting environment.
* Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits \& credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis.
* Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms is essential.
* Knowledge of medical billing processes, CPT coding, ICD\-10 coding, and medical terminology is a plus for roles supporting healthcare clients.
* Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately at a 10 key typing speed with attention to detail.
* Experience working with governmental or non\-profit accounting standards is advantageous.
* Excellent analysis skills combined with strong phone etiquette and customer service abilities to effectively manage collections and client inquiries.
