The Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer will have the opportunity to collaborate with all design staff and oversee full cycle mechanical design activities. This person will work as part of the Engineering Team and interact closely with organizational leadership to develop and edit project specifications and lead design development efforts.The Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer will be self-directed on day-to-day work and independently performs most responsibilities.  Will lead project teams and projects of complex scope and broader programs.  Will coordinate activities of other personnel.  Assists in the development of policies and procedures.The Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives. Essential FunctionsLead Mechanical Engineering Design Activities (40%)Independently perform advanced engineering work Perform advanced mechanical design tasks Perform advanced computation analysis and design tasks for complex projects, components and systemsIndependently perform and analyze load calculations and energy simulationUtilize AutoCAD and Revit software to prepare drawings and visual aidsReview and / or prepare book or sheet specifications Develop and / or review HVAC controls sequence of operations Develop proposals including project scope, schedule and budget Timely and effective management of project design team including resource forecasting and coordination Identify potential project scope changes and aid in development of strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines Perform QAQC peer reviews for projects where he or she is not the lead design engineerLead Construction Activities (20%) Survey existing building conditions and prepares technical reports of findingsCollect data and other information for construction documentsPrepare project design, specification and construction documents Lead the engineering team and interact closely with the project management teamReview shop drawings and submittals Review and respond to RFIsReview and complete punch lists and project closeout documentsReview and approve change order requestsManage Stakeholder Relations (20%) Responsible for execution of the firm’s client value system and assuring that the project is executed in accordance with company policies and standards Serve as primary client contact for one or more clients.
